Tragic San Antonio Crash Claims Four Lives

A devastating accident occurred on the interstate in San Antonio on Thursday afternoon when a stolen vehicle collided with a shuttle bus, resulting in the death of four individuals and injuring over a dozen others, according to local law enforcement.

The crash, which took place on Interstate 35, saw two passengers on the bus pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional victims succumbed to their injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital. Fire officials reported that a total of 21 individuals were taken to various medical facilities for treatment.

Details of the Incident

Authorities revealed that a stolen Camaro, reportedly traveling at high speed, struck a trailer connected to the shuttle bus. This impact caused the bus driver to lose control, leading to the vehicle colliding with a guardrail and subsequently being hit by a tractor-trailer. The force of the crash resulted in the bus rolling onto its side, with several passengers being thrown from the vehicle.

In the immediate aftermath, witnesses reported seeing four suspects exit the Camaro and flee the scene; police confirmed that at least one of the individuals appeared to be armed. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus stated that among the injured were both children and elderly passengers.

Victims and Impact

The shuttle bus, operated by Transportes Guerra, was en route from Fort Worth to Eagle Pass when the tragic events unfolded. Family members of the company confirmed that the owner, Jose Hector Guerra, also known as “Tito,” was among those who lost their lives in the crash. He is mourned by his wife and children.

The local community has expressed their condolences and support for the Guerra family during this difficult time.

Investigation Underway

Video footage has surfaced of the theft of the Camaro, providing insight into how the vehicle was taken. The suspects can be seen using a screwdriver to break into the car before driving away. Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and pursue the individuals responsible for this deadly incident.
